Idle Air Valve Note:

After installation of valve, adjust idle by turning the yellow knob counterclockwise, not by pulling out on it.

O-ring should be installed on the largest step closest to the retaining plate flange.

YFZ450R GT-10-301 Idle AIr Bypass Valve Control (IAC) Instructions


  1. Remove Stock IAC- Save Screws (3)

  2. Clean Area as needed, then remove the stock IAC valve/motor assembly.

  3. One race shop has told me they open the valve to the halfway point for the first start. This should around six to seven turns.

  4. Insert GT Manual IAC into recess in throttle body where the factory IAC unit was.

  5. Install the 3 screws (removed in step 1) into the small holes around the retaining plate and tighten to just past snug (a medium loctite is recommended).

  6. Reinstall anything removed to gain access.

  7. Start Quad and adjust the yellow knob by turning counter-clockwise till desired idle speed in acheived.
